TopShelf and Remember the ALAMOS
Remember the Alamos ~ Top Shelf Tuesday (April 21) ~ Tasting Etiquette ~ THANK YOU!
This blurb will be short and sweet, but read every word or you might miss something enthralling!
Remember the Alamos
The Alamos wine label was one of our biggest sellers for years; it was the entry level wine of the Catena Family Wineries in Argentina. As most know, we have not been able to get it for months – and now we know why. The wine industry is big business these days and, as of last year, the USA has become the largest consumer of wine in the world. Gallo Wines decided to buy the Alamos "label" and put their own wine in the bottle, riding on the coattails of the Catena Family quality and Alamos name recognition. Understand that they did not purchase the Vineyards or the Winery, only the rights to the label; who knows from where the wine will come.
The great news about all of this is that the Catena family is again producing the wine under a new label, Tilia. Guess what? We will taste them at this Saturday's tasting, April 11. As always you can check tasting notes on our website at http://www.inariwines.com/tastings.php
Top Shelf Tuesday (April 21st) Reservations Required
A little more information on our upcoming educational series, Top Shelf Tuesday:
After hours on (Tuesday) April 21st, we will taste and learn about Catena Alta, Chasseur, and Havens wines along with Hors d'Oeuvres from the Troutdale Bistro.
This is filling up fast . . . as of this morning, April 10 (Happy Birthday Beth!!), 23 of the 30 seats are reserved and the tasting is still more than a week away (insert happy noises here!). To make sure that we fill this event and guarantee getting this caliber of presenters back to Bristol, we have added an incentive to fill the last seven spaces. With your (paid) attendance you will receive a $20 Gift Certificate to Troutdale Dining Room, a $10 Gift Certificate to Troutdale Bistro for Dinner, and a $5 Gift Certificate to Troutdale Bistro for lunch! So, basically, Ben Zandi is providing everyone a free Wine Tasting at Inari Wines (Thanks, Ben!!) For those of you with reservations already, you will receive your certificates the night of April 21.
For details of the class (tasting), you guessed it, go to our website @ http://www.inariwines.com/tastings.php?view=detail&id=200903191303454329
Tasting Etiquette
We have had customers asking about"tasting etiquette." As manners apply to every aspect of life, I was sure I could find some helpful information out there somewhere.
If you are interested keep an eye on our blog, we will soon post the complete document but in the interim I'd like to highlight something mentioned in every source I found: Please refrain from wearing strong cologne or perfume or smoking just before entering. Not only will you not get to smell the fine nuances or taste the subtleties of the wine, but neither will the other patrons near you.
THANK YOU!
Thanks for stimulating our LOCAL economy. We appreciate that you have choices to make and are honored to remain one of your favorite places to shop. (Did we mention we were voted Best in Bristol again this year?? [Insert more happy noises here])
Whether shopping, tasting, or just passing through to say HI, we love to see you in downtown Bristol!
Many Thanks from Aulikki, Paul, and Tanya (whiner in training).
