Lunch in Stockholm
Finland; The first day
Posted by: Paul, 08.27.2008As most know we are on our way to Finland to see family and friends and of course look for new products for the store and Drink Wine!
We left this afternoon (Tuesday 8/26) from Tri-Cities and as with most trips these days the plane was over an hour late leaving so when we landed in Charlotte we only made the connecting flight by begging them to open the door and let us on, it worked.
From Charlotte we made connections in Philadelphia where, so they say, the computer lost our flight plan along with many others so we sat on the tarmac for an hour waiting to take off along with at least 23 other planes that I could count but we finally took off and were off to overnight flight to Stockholm.
We had several hours in Stockholm so what did we do . . . Had fish for lunch along with an excellent Viogner. Aulikki and I were impressed with the Wine list but was amazed at how many were from the United States or should I say California. Our Viogner was Incognito from Lodi Californiia.
We then boarded the next plane for a 25 minute flight to Turku Finland. The flight was great, with the help of the Wine at lunch we had a great nap at the gate waiting for the flightto Turku Finland, where we finally arrived on Wednesday at 4:45 pm local time, 10:45 am Bristol time.
We located our rental car and traveled an hour and a half or so to Pori Finland where Aulikki was born, where we met and married. We had dinner at the restaurant that we had our wedding reception and went to SLEEP. Check out the Photo Galleries for more photos.
